The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is the professional body for the trust and estate profession worldwide and currently has over 13,000 members in over 68 countries worldwide.

STEP members come from the legal, accountancy, trust, banking, insurance and related professions, and are involved at all levels in the planning, creation and management of, and accounting for, trusts and estates.

STEP membership can be gained by completing either the STEP Diploma exams, the Qualified Practitioner papers or via the Advocacy route. More details on these routes can be found on the Membership page. Members of STEP are by definition the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field of trusts and estates.

STEP was originally founded in England in 1991 as a forum to bring practitioners together with a common vision. The STEP Bahamas Branch was founded in 1996 and now has a membership of approximately 408 members including over 170 student members. The STEP Bahamas branch is the 5th largest STEP branch in the world and we encourage all eligible persons to consider joining STEP Bahamas.

STEP Bahamas has produced a highly specialized and successful professional body, and its rapid expansion in the Bahamas is a clear indication of a young, forward-thinking international society.
